More From The Street

Posted on 23rd August 2016 by Admin under Comment, Photograph, Technique

My recent photography street walk with the RPS around Bethnal Green and Shoreditch produced quite a few shots with which I was pleased.  Out of the 113 exposures I made on the day, I have already published one shot as my Photo of the Day and I include a further ten in this post.  That’s significantly better than my usual hit rate, but some days it does all seem to come together, which makes up for those occasions which are frustratingly unproductive.

I love mobile phones. It makes candid shots so much easier!

Getting In The Picture
Again, candid photography is easy when the subjects are concentrating on what they are doing.

Just look at those ones and twos!

Light and shade graffitti

Light and Shade
Yes, it is someone walking past graffitti. Maybe, in this instance, partly saved from being a complete cliché by the strong shadow on the right of the image.

Looking

Yes, more people walking past graffitti. I like the sense of interaction between the man and the skeleton. Which is my exciuse for posting this shot.

Onlooker

Onlooker
It took a while to get this shot as I had switched cameras and the new one was not set up the way I thought it was.  It took a bit of fiddling to sort out, during which time I was in turn being observed. That worked to my benefit as there is a sense of engagement with the subject.

Wheel Maker It is so unusual to see people in London making things on the street. I spoke to this guy about waht he was doing and he was happy for me to take a few shots.

I was taken by this dog’s pose in one of the shops I passed.
